The commission's mandate is to evaluate the current number of employees, administrative structure, and overall effectiveness of EOHHS in fulfilling its legislative responsibilities, including exploring the potential reorganization of the office into smaller subagencies. By October 1, 2026, the commission is required to submit a detailed report of its findings and recommendations to the legislative clerks and relevant joint committees on healthcare financing and public health, providing insights that could potentially reshape the organization and functioning of EOHHS.
