This resolution congratulates the Benet Academy boys basketball team, known as the Redwings, on winning the 2024-25 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 4A State Championship, a significant achievement in high school basketball. The team secured their historic first state title by defeating Warren Township High School 55-54 on March 15, 2025, and completed an impressive season with 33 wins and only 5 losses. Led by Head Coach Gene Heidkamp and a team of assistant coaches, the Redwings roster included 22 players who were recognized for their outstanding performance. The resolution, passed by the Illinois House of Representatives, not only celebrates the team's remarkable accomplishment but also wishes them continued success in future seasons.
