This resolution commends Gloria Williams, the head girls' basketball coach at Parkway High School, for her outstanding achievements since 2016. Over nine seasons, Williams has compiled an impressive record of 196 wins and 81 losses, with an especially remarkable 164 wins and only 32 losses in the past six seasons. Prior to her arrival, the Parkway Lady Panthers had never appeared in a state championship, but under her leadership, the team earned its first championship appearance in 2022 and subsequently achieved four consecutive state championship appearances, winning back-to-back Division I Non-select Girls' state titles in 2023 and 2024. Williams has been recognized with multiple coaching awards, including two-time Shreveport Times All-City Coach of the Year and Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 5A Coach of the Year. She has also coached notable players like Mikaylah Williams, a Louisiana State University basketball player and McDonald's All-American, and Chloe Larry, who plays for Tennessee Tech University.
