Born on February 28, 1930, in Clarksville, Dr. Vann served as a pediatrician for thirty-seven years, providing compassionate care to children and families, and holding leadership positions at Clarksville Memorial Hospital and within professional medical organizations. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Medical School and completing residencies at City of Memphis Hospital and Vanderbilt University, he became a prominent pediatrician who served as president of the Tennessee Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and helped establish KidsCare, a pediatric clinic serving TennCare patients. Following his retirement in 2001, during which he was honored with the Tennessee Medical Association's Distinguished Service Award, Dr. Vann continued serving his community by working with individuals recovering from addiction and writing a book on emotional resilience.
