This resolution recognizes the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center at Radnor Lake State Park on its tenth anniversary, highlighting its significant contributions to wildlife education and conservation. The 550-foot boardwalk and aviary complex, which opened in 2015, serves as a central hub for Tennessee State Parks' birds-of-prey programming and provides a wheelchair-accessible facility for visitors to observe non-releasable birds of prey up close. Through a public-private partnership, the center houses seven birds, including a great horned owl, a red-tailed hawk, a vulture, a golden eagle, and three bald eagles, each living in a customized habitat. The park staff receives specialized training four times annually from Wings to Soar to ensure high-quality care and interpretive programs for these educational animals. The resolution celebrates the center's decade-long mission of delighting and educating visitors while providing a safe environment for these remarkable birds, and it officially extends best wishes for the center's continued success.
