This bill provides retroactive Tier 5 status in the New York state and local employees' retirement system to Barbara Juh, a registered nurse who worked part-time at the Adirondack Correctional Facility from September 16, 2010, to December 16, 2012, and then full-time with the department of corrections and community supervision from December 17, 2012, to December 31, 2021. The bill allows Juh to be considered a Tier 5 member of the retirement system retroactively to September 16, 2010, despite initially being a Tier 6 member, if she files a written request with the state comptroller within six months of the act's effective date.
