This resolution honors the life and legacy of David Leo Jenkins, a dedicated educator, veteran, and community leader from Pendleton, South Carolina. He devoted over 44 years to education, working as an elementary school teacher in Rock Hill and later retiring as an assistant principal in the Lancaster High School System in 1991. After retirement, he continued teaching at Clinton Junior College and remained active in community service, participating in organizations like Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Prince Hall Masonic Lodge, and the Lancaster Optimist Club. A devoted Presbyterian and family man, Jenkins was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Artyce Amelia Walker Jenkins, and is survived by his two daughters, four granddaughters, and a nephew. The resolution expresses profound sorrow at his passing, acknowledges his significant contributions to education and community service, and extends deepest sympathy to his family and friends, with a commitment to provide a copy of the resolution to his family.
