This bill establishes an Interagency National Task Force on Working Families, which will be composed of representatives from nine federal agencies, including the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, Housing and Urban Development, Commerce, Treasury, Transportation, Agriculture, and the Small Business Administration. The Task Force will meet at least quarterly and is charged with examining challenges facing working families and developing recommendations to improve their standard of living. Its specific duties include identifying factors impacting working families' economic conditions, such as affordability, job access, childcare, tax policies, healthcare, housing, education, financial literacy, and transportation. The Task Force must assess how macroeconomic conditions affect working families, evaluate current federal policies, and develop legislative and regulatory recommendations to help families overcome economic challenges. Within 180 days of enactment, the Task Force must submit a comprehensive report to relevant congressional committees, including meeting minutes and a list of stakeholders consulted, and make the report publicly available online. The goal is to create a multi-agency approach to understanding and addressing the economic pressures facing working families in America.
