This resolution congratulates Madisyn Karkosky, a sophomore at Temple High School, for winning the Precision Metal contest at the 2025 SkillsUSA Texas State Leadership and Skills Conference held in Corpus Christi. SkillsUSA, a national nonprofit organization that supports students preparing for technical and skilled careers, hosts competitive events that allow participants to showcase their abilities and earn recognition. Karkosky demonstrated her skills by utilizing blueprints to produce precise metal shapes using manual mill and lathe equipment, and successfully completed three in-person assessments testing her calculation, measurement, and technical knowledge. The resolution highlights her achievement and future aspirations, including her plans to pursue a manual machinist certificate, complete an internship at a local machine company, and ultimately enroll in college to pursue a career in machinery and welding. The Texas House of Representatives officially recognizes her accomplishment and extends best wishes for her continued success, and will prepare an official copy of the resolution for Karkosky as an expression of their regard.
