This resolution congratulates Jaelyn Jade Phillips, a high school powerlifter from Troy High School, on winning the state title in the 165-pound weight class at the 2025 Texas High School Women's Powerlifting Association (THSWPA) 3A Division 1 State Championship. Phillips achieved an impressive performance at the state meet in Edinburg on March 13, lifting a total of 1,130 pounds (450 pounds in squat, 280 pounds in bench press, and 400 pounds in deadlift), which secured her the gold medal. This victory represents the culmination of her powerlifting journey, having previously earned bronze in 2023 and silver in 2024, and follows her third regional championship where she swept Best Squat, Best Bench, and Best Deadlift awards. The resolution not only celebrates her athletic achievement but also acknowledges her academic success, as she has been named to the THSWPA All-Academic Elite Team.
