This resolution recognizes Trooper Shane Moore of the Tennessee Highway Patrol on the occasion of his retirement, highlighting his distinguished 20-year career in public service. Moore graduated from the Tennessee Highway Patrol Academy in 2000, initially serving in Troop C covering Montgomery, Stewart, and Houston counties, and later becoming a K9 handler and trainer. In 2008, he attended K9 training and received a dual-purpose dog for tracking people and narcotics, and in 2013 transferred to the K9 division to train new handlers. In 2019, he joined the Capitol Protection Unit as an explosive detector canine handler, notably participating in safety efforts following the 2020 Nashville Christmas Day bombing. Throughout his career, Moore worked with five K9s and was recognized for his professionalism, dedication, and commitment to serving his community. The resolution, passed by the Tennessee Senate and House of Representatives, formally thanks Moore for his meritorious service and wishes him success in his future endeavors, including his new role in pastoral leadership at his local church.
