This bill renames the "West Islip Exempt Firemen's Benevolent Association" to the "West Islip Exempt Firefighter's Benevolent Association" and updates its purpose and organizational structure. The bill also updates the organization's ability to collect foreign fire insurance premium taxes (taxes on fire insurance premiums), specifying that these funds can now be used more broadly in alignment with the organization's expanded purposes, rather than solely for care of disabled or indigent volunteers. The tax-related changes will apply to premiums received on or after January 1, 2026, and the act takes effect immediately upon passage.
