This resolution congratulates the Illinois Environmental Council (IEC), a nonprofit organization with over 130 affiliate members, on its 50th anniversary of advancing environmental policy in Illinois. Established in 1975, the IEC has worked continuously to promote equitable public policies protecting the state's environment, with significant contributions across areas like clean water, clean energy, conservation, sustainable agriculture, clean transportation, waste reduction, and environmental justice.
