This resolution congratulates the Norfolk High School cheer team and unified cheer team for their exceptional performance at the 2025 Nebraska State Cheer and Dance Competition held at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island, Nebraska. The Norfolk High School cheer team achieved their highest placement by ranking fourth in Class A non-tumbling, while their unified cheer team became state champions in unified sideline cheer for Classes A, B, and C in just their first year of competition. The resolution recognizes the leadership of coaches Katie Nedela, Alissa Melcher, Andi Husk, Phoebe Matson, and Phoebe Melcher, and acknowledges that such achievements are made possible through the support of teachers, administrators, parents, and the community. By passing this resolution, the Nebraska Legislature aims to highlight and celebrate the academic, athletic, and artistic achievements of the state's youth, officially congratulating the team and sending copies of the resolution to the Norfolk High School cheer team.
