The bill also prohibits the use of automated license plate recognition systems for parking enforcement, with some exceptions. If a property owner or management violates these provisions, they can be held liable under the Maine Unfair Trade Practices Act and may be required to pay damages up to three times the amount of the originally assessed fine.
