This resolution commends Coach Danny Broussard for his exceptional 42-year coaching career at St. Thomas More Catholic High School, highlighting his extraordinary achievements in high school basketball. Throughout his tenure, Broussard has led the Cougars to an impressive 1,162-355 career record, with 345-82 in district play, including six state championship victories (in 1986, 2013, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021) and nineteen LHSAA (Louisiana High School Athletic Association) Final Four appearances. He has received numerous accolades, including being named Coach of the Year multiple times, inducted into the Louisiana High School Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2018, and recognized as the NHSACA (National High School Athletic Coaches Association) Boys Basketball Coach of the Year in 2021. Notably, Broussard ranks sixth nationally for all-time high school basketball coaching wins and has led his team to thirty-four consecutive playoff appearances.
