The bill also clarifies that any information obtained during risk or mental health screenings remains inadmissible in court and cannot be subpoenaed. Violations of the confidentiality provisions remain a misdemeanor punishable by up to 180 days in jail, a fine of up to $1,000, or both. The bill will take effect on October 1, 2025, providing a clear framework for responsible research access to juvenile justice records while protecting the privacy of minors involved in diversion programs.
