This bill provides for the conveyance of four parcels of state-owned land located in North Canaan, Connecticut, totaling approximately 27.45 acres, to the town of North Canaan. The land transfer will occur at a cost equal to the fair market value, which will be determined by the average of two independent appraisers' valuations, plus administrative costs. The specific parcels are identified on a compilation plan from October 2021 and are located on specific tax assessor's map lots. The conveyance is subject to approval by the State Properties Review Board, which must complete its review within 30 days of receiving the proposed agreement from the Department of Transportation. Until the actual conveyance, the land will remain under the Department of Transportation's care and control. The State Treasurer will execute the necessary deed, while the Commissioner of Transportation will handle all other aspects of the transfer.
