This resolution congratulates the San Antonio Fire Department Investigation Unit (SAFD Investigation Unit) for being named the 2025 Investigator of the Year by the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), a prestigious recognition for firefighters who demonstrate exceptional expertise in arson investigation. Established in December 2020, the unit has investigated nearly 2,000 fire incidents over four and a half years, collecting critical evidence and data at fire scenes and providing in-depth analysis that can help with future fire prevention. The resolution highlights the unit's commitment to protecting lives and property and formally acknowledges their achievement by resolving to congratulate the unit, extend best wishes to its members, and prepare an official copy of the resolution as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives. The IAAI annually recognizes a firefighter or fire unit that shows outstanding performance in both criminal and civil aspects of arson control, and in this case, the San Antonio Fire Department Investigation Unit has been selected for this honor.
