AI Summary

This bill amends The Administrative Code of 1929 to mandate that the Pennsylvania Department of Health develop comprehensive perimenopause and menopause education initiatives. Specifically, the Department of Health will be required to establish partnerships with healthcare providers like obstetricians and gynecologists, as well as community health centers and hospitals, to create educational resources about perimenopause and menopause. The bill requires the department to develop informational materials in both electronic and physical formats that cover key topics such as symptoms, biological processes, treatment options, when to seek medical consultation, and strategies for discussing these life stages with family and friends. These materials will be designed to help women better understand and prepare for the physical and emotional changes associated with perimenopause and menopause. The educational resources will be distributed through healthcare providers and made accessible to women who are either experiencing or approaching these transitional stages of life. The bill will take effect 60 days after its passage, ensuring a relatively quick implementation of these new educational requirements.
