This resolution recognizes and honors Loretta Coleman Ministries for its 28 years of service to the Columbia, South Carolina community. The organization, which has been active since June 1997, focuses on supporting senior citizens, children, and survivors of sexual abuse. Over its history, the ministry has made significant community contributions, including providing over $50,000 in educational scholarships, distributing over 20,000 bags of school supplies, and donating over 5,000 bags of toiletries to senior citizens. They have also collected and donated thousands of boxes of non-perishable food to homeless shelters, clothing and shoes to cooperative ministries, and supplies to organizations like Sistercare, Inc. The ministry has additionally provided support during disasters, such as collecting supplies for flood victims after Hurricane Helene. In recognition of their extensive community service, Loretta Coleman Ministries has received numerous awards. The South Carolina Senate resolves to officially recognize the organization's work and congratulate its staff, and further directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to the ministry.
