This bill establishes the first Friday of every October as "Alaska Arts and Culture Day" in the state of Alaska, a designation that will be added to the existing state laws under AS 44.12. The purpose of this day is to encourage schools, community groups, and other public and private organizations and individuals to hold events, projects, and activities aimed at people of all ages to promote greater awareness and appreciation for the arts and culture within Alaska. The Act will become effective immediately upon its passage.
