This bill amends Title 38 of the United States Code to increase the amount of financial assistance the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) provides to disabled veterans for home modifications and structural alterations. Specifically, the bill raises the maximum amount veterans can receive for improvements and structural alterations from $6,800 to $10,000 for one type of benefit and from $2,000 to $10,000 for another type of benefit. The bill also introduces an annual inflation adjustment mechanism, requiring the VA Secretary to increase these dollar amounts each fiscal year based on changes in the residential home cost of construction index.
