These substances have been associated with serious health problems such as liver damage, tumors, reproductive abnormalities, cardiac arrhythmia, renal failure, and allergic reactions. Additionally, the resolution points out that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been increasingly refusing shrimp import shipments due to antibiotic concerns, and that many imported shrimp are not properly labeled for sulfite content. The resolution requests that Secretary Kennedy study these health impacts as part of his stated goal of "Making America Healthy Again" and recommends transmitting the resolution to HHS and the Louisiana congressional delegation.
