Founded in 1993 by Celeste Graves and Patsy Ogden-Williams, the society manages the Magnolia Depot Museum Complex, which includes a historic railroad depot built in 1902 and designated as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. The museum complex features various artifacts such as a 19th-century sawmill, a Southern Pacific caboose, and a wood-frame house that was once Dr. J. M. Ware's office and barber shop. By maintaining these historical sites and artifacts, the Magnolia Historical Society has played a crucial role in preserving the town's heritage and helping residents appreciate their local history. The Texas House of Representatives officially recognizes the society's dedicated work, extends best wishes to its members, and will prepare an official copy of the resolution as an expression of high regard.
