This bill revises the way the Governor prepares the proposed executive budget for public education funding in Nevada. Additionally, the bill eliminates the requirement for the Governor to recommend specific legislation to improve education funding methods if the standard budgeting approach is deemed impractical. The Governor will still need to include recommendations for the statewide base per pupil funding amount and multipliers for weighted funding, but will have more discretion in how these are calculated. The bill becomes effective on July 1, 2025, and aims to provide more budgetary flexibility for public education funding in Nevada.
