This bill, titled the "Empower Charter School Educators to Lead Act," proposes changes to the program that provides grants to support high-quality charter schools, which are publicly funded schools that operate independently of traditional school districts. The bill also adjusts the allocation of grant funds, reserving up to 5% for these new pre-charter planning subgrants.
