This bill establishes the Street Racing Prevention and Intervention Task Force to address the growing problem of illegal street racing and related dangerous driving activities. The task force will be created within 90 days of the Act's enactment and will be composed of nine members from various federal agencies, including the Department of Justice, Transportation, and the FBI, as well as state and local law enforcement representatives. The task force's primary responsibilities include studying the prevalence and impacts of street racing, vehicle sideshows (events where drivers block traffic to perform stunts), and street takeovers; developing national and local best practices for combating organized street racing; creating educational materials about prevention and response; and coordinating law enforcement efforts across local, state, and federal levels. The bill defines street racing as a race between two or more vehicles on a public road not designated for official racing, and a vehicle sideshow as an event where traffic is blocked to perform motor vehicle stunts or speed contests. Within one year of enactment, the task force is required to submit a progress report to the Judiciary Committees of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
