This resolution pays tribute to Patsy Ruth Spackey, a community leader from The Woodlands who passed away on November 9, 2024, at age 82. Born in Dallas in 1942, Spackey was married to Ted for 63 years and had three children, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was an active member of her church communities, serving in various volunteer roles, and was a professional wedding photographer. Spackey was deeply involved in historical societies, including the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and the Descendants of the Signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence, and was recognized for her political activism with the Tribute to Women Award from the Texas Federation of Republican Women in 2018. As a descendant of Charles B. Stewart, the designer of the Texas flag, she was particularly proud of her Montgomery County heritage. The resolution, passed unanimously by the Texas House of Representatives on June 1, 2025, honors her memory, extends condolences to her family, and recognizes her significant contributions to her community, faith, and state.
