This resolution congratulates Dr. David Larson on his retirement as superintendent of Glenbard Township High School District 87 after 13 years of service, recognizing his extensive 45-year career in education that included work in domestic and international schools. Throughout his tenure, Dr. Larson led the third largest high school district in Illinois, overseeing 475 teachers and 7,600 students, and achieved significant educational accomplishments such as creating innovative course sequences, successfully passing a facility improvements referendum, developing a "Profile of a Graduate" to prepare students for a changing world, and maintaining strong academic performance. Under his leadership, 62% of Glenbard High School students graduated with college credit, Advanced Placement and Dual Credit course participation was twice the national and state average, and the district consistently secured Illinois State Board of Education Financial Recognition status.
