This resolution congratulates Joanna Adame of Mission, Texas, on graduating from the Texas Partners in Policymaking (TPiP) Class of 2025, a leadership training program organized by the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities. The program is designed to empower adults with developmental disabilities and their families to become policy advocates, providing participants with knowledge about disability history, systems, and policy over a seven-month period. Adame participated as a parent advocate and completed a capstone initiative focused on raising awareness about cortical visual impairment (CVI) and expanding access to related resources. As chair of the parent advisory committee for Easterseals Rio Grande Valley, she works to connect families with services and advocate for stronger community support systems. The resolution acknowledges her efforts to develop skills that can effect positive change in her community and officially recognizes her accomplishment by preparing an official copy of the resolution for her as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
