This resolution congratulates Karla Yvette Sierra, a Peace Corps volunteer from El Paso, Texas, on receiving the prestigious John F. Kennedy Service Award in 2022. The award, given every five years to select Peace Corps volunteers and staff members, recognizes Sierra's exceptional contributions during her service in Panama from 2010 to 2012, where she worked in community economic development, created partnerships with the Panamanian Ministry of Education and United Nations Development Programme, and helped reduce poverty and raise awareness about HIV and AIDS. The resolution highlights Sierra's continued community engagement as an engagement director at LIBRE, an advocacy organization, where she works to advance financial literacy and encourage civic involvement in the Hispanic community.
