This concurrent resolution commends April Burkholder Coulter for her exceptional gymnastics career and her upcoming induction into the 2025 Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame. A native of Harlingen, Texas, Coulter was an outstanding gymnast at Louisiana State University (LSU) from 2003 to 2006, where she became the most decorated gymnast in school history with fourteen All-American honors and 108 individual event titles. Her collegiate achievements include winning the 2006 NCAA national championship on the balance beam, recording eight perfect 10.0 scores across different events, being named SEC Freshman of the Year in 2003 and SEC Gymnast of the Year in 2004 and 2005, and finishing third in the NCAA all-around competition in 2006. Prior to her collegiate success, she was a three-time Junior Olympic all-around national champion. Her remarkable performances not only highlighted her athletic prowess but also significantly increased fan interest and support for the LSU gymnastics program. The resolution formally recognizes her extraordinary athletic career and upcoming Hall of Fame induction, with a copy of the resolution to be transmitted to Coulter herself.
