This resolution congratulates Marco Cunningham, a student from Rapoport Academy in Waco, for his outstanding achievements at the 2025 University Interscholastic League (UIL) Track & Field State Meet. Cunningham won two gold medals, first in the 3,200-meter race with an impressive time of 9:14.94 (nearly 44 seconds ahead of his competitors and recording the second-fastest time ever in the 2A meet), and second in the 1,600-meter race with a time of 4 minutes, 19.71 seconds. The resolution also highlights his prior success in winning the gold medal at the UIL Cross Country State Championships in November 2024 and acknowledges his academic excellence. The Texas House of Representatives formally recognizes Cunningham's athletic accomplishments, extends best wishes for his future, and will prepare an official copy of the resolution for him as an expression of high regard. By passing this resolution, the House celebrates Cunningham's athletic prowess and his representation of his school and community.
