This resolution honors Father James Patrick Jaeger, recognizing his nearly four decades of dedicated service to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester and broader New York communities. Born in Dubuque, Iowa in 1957, Father Jaeger was ordained as a priest in 1986 and served in numerous parishes across the Diocese of Rochester, including pastorates in Hornell, Palmyra, Marion, Bath, and Hammondsport. Beyond his parish work, he also served as a military chaplain with the Air National Guard, deployed internationally and retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and maintained a chaplaincy at the Canandaigua Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The resolution specifically celebrates his retirement effective June 24, 2025, and commends his exceptional pastoral leadership, commitment to faith, country, and community, and his lifelong service that has touched countless lives throughout the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions.
