This bill seeks to posthumously award a Congressional Gold Medal to Sergeant Alfredo "Freddy" Gonzalez in recognition of his exceptional heroism during the Vietnam War in February 1968. The bill provides extensive background on Gonzalez's military service, detailing his enlistment in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1965 and his service in Vietnam, where he demonstrated extraordinary bravery during the Battle of Hue City.
