By moving the deadline to a weekday, the bill ensures that public officers can receive assistance from the Public Integrity Commission during regular business hours when filing their mandatory financial disclosure forms. The bill does not change the substantive requirements of the financial disclosure report, which must still include details about the public officer's financial interests, such as ownership in businesses, professional organizations, income sources, gifts, and creditors. The change maintains the existing requirement that reports must be filed electronically, certified by the public officer as true and complete, and submitted to the Commission within 14 days of becoming a public officer and then annually by the new March deadline.
