This resolution congratulates Adelie Donovan, a student at Jack C. Hays High School in Kyle, Texas, on being named the 2025 Hays County Youth Poet Laureate, a prestigious recognition through the National Youth Poet Laureate program. The resolution highlights that Donovan was selected by award-winning poet Naomi Shihab Nye for her manuscript "Epitaph for My Fireflies", which explores complex themes including mental health and the adolescent experience. The selection process involved creative writing workshops hosted by Infrarrealista Review and The Burdine Johnson Foundation at Centro Cultural Hispano in San Marcos, and Donovan was guided by instructor SG Huerta during these workshops.
