Within 12 months of the bill's enactment, the Inspector General must submit a report to Congress with study findings and recommendations for improving transparency and oversight. Second, starting in June 2025, the Secretary of Health and Human Services must submit an annual report to Congress and publish it online, listing all new Medicare billing codes from the previous year, along with their associated volume and expenditures. These requirements are designed to provide more insight into how Medicare billing codes are developed and used, ultimately helping to ensure more efficient and accountable healthcare billing practices.
