It also maintains the existing requirement that the Fiscal Analysis Division obtain fiscal notes for bills that create significant fiscal liabilities (over $2,000) or impact state prison terms, with an exception for bills directly related to the proposed executive budget. These changes aim to provide more clarity and consistency in how fiscal information is reported and evaluated during the legislative process, with the amendments set to take effect on July 1, 2025.
