This resolution honors the life of Doyle Oliver, a Texas game warden who passed away on May 13, 2023, at the age of 81. Born in Cross Plains on October 28, 1941, to Elbert and Katie Oliver, he was remembered as a devoted father and grandfather who was known for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to offer wisdom and support to his family. After retiring from his career as a game warden, Oliver remained active in his community, volunteering at Eastminster Presbyterian Church and enjoying cooking for his loved ones. The Texas House of Representatives formally pays tribute to his life, extends condolences to his family and friends, and will prepare an official copy of the resolution in his memory. The resolution was unanimously adopted by the House on June 1, 2025, with the intent of commemorating Oliver's contributions to his family and community.
