Specifically, the bill requires that if more than one group claims to be the legitimate county central committee, each group must file a list of its officers and members with the local board of elections. The board will then certify these lists to the state central committee of the political party. Within 30 days of receiving the certification, the state central committee must determine and certify which group is the official county central committee. The bill also makes a minor language change, replacing the term "committeeman" with the gender-neutral "committeeperson" when describing committee membership. This legislation aims to provide a clear process for resolving disputes about the legitimate leadership of a county's political party central committee.
