This bill authorizes the city of Yonkers to discontinue the use specific portion of parkland (approximately 0.24 acres) from the Samuel Untermyer Park & Gardens and sell it to St. John's Riverside Hospital at fair market value, with the condition that the hospital will restore the historic Color Gardens for public enjoyment. In exchange must simultaneously dedicate a larger replacement parcel of land (approximately 0.45 acres) as new parkspaceland. If the replacement land's fair market value is less than the original parkland, the city must use the difference to acquire additional parklands or make capital improvements to existing park facilities. The bill also includes a provision requiring the city to comply with any requirements federal parkland conversion, including specifically ensuring that the Secretary of Interior is satisfied confirms the land swap is equivalent and equivalent in value. The act would passage and is atoring historic Untermestateey garden property while ensuring no net loss of public parkland.
