This bill modifies the existing law regarding driver improvement course discounts for automobile insurance policies in Pennsylvania. Specifically, the bill removes the previous age restriction of 55 years or older for receiving a discount, making the driver improvement course discount available to all drivers who successfully complete an approved motor vehicle driver improvement course. The minimum premium discount for completing such a course is increased from 5% to 10%, and insurers are still allowed to omit this discount if they can demonstrate to the insurance commissioner that it duplicates an existing driver improvement course discount.
