This bill amends South Carolina law by introducing a new provision that establishes financial penalties for boards and commissions if their members fail to take the constitutionally required oath of office. Specifically, if any member of a state or local board or commission (including school district boards) does not take the oath as specified in Article VI, Section 5 of the South Carolina Constitution, the State Treasurer will be required to withhold all direct funding to that board or commission.
