This bill modifies the Pennsylvania Fish Fund and Boat Fund to allow more flexible use of funds across fish and boating-related activities. Specifically, the bill allows the Fish Fund to be used for boat and boating expenses that benefit fish and fishing, and allows the Boat Fund to be used for fish and fishing expenses that benefit boats and boating. For both funds, the Fish and Wildlife Commission is required to maintain detailed records of these expenditures and provide annual reports by January 31st to key legislative committee chairs and minority chairs, including those from the Game and Fisheries and Appropriations Committees in both the Senate and House of Representatives. The bill specifies that these reports may be included as part of another existing required report (under section 503(b)). The new provisions are designed to provide more operational flexibility for the Fish and Wildlife Commission in managing its resources across related areas of responsibility. The bill will take effect 60 days after passage.
