This bill, titled the "Small Business Artificial Intelligence Advancement Act," mandates that the Director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) develop and distribute resources to help small businesses understand and use artificial intelligence (AI). These resources, which will be voluntary, may include technical standards, best practices, and methodologies, and must be broadly applicable, promote basic understanding of AI, include practical examples, be technology-neutral, and align with international standards and existing U.S. technology innovation laws. NIST will also be required to review and update these resources every two years, coordinate their distribution with the Small Business Administration, and submit a report to Congress on their development and use within four years of enactment.
