This bill amends the state school aid act to modify provisions related to the Michigan merit examination (MME), which is a standardized test administered to high school students. The key change is introducing a new option for students to opt out of the work skills test (also known as the WorkKeys examination) beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. To opt out, a student must submit a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian by February 28 of the school year the test will be administered.
