This resolution commends Elizabeth Grace "Gracie" Bourque, a high-achieving student from Ascension Episcopal High School who was crowned the seventy-second Delcambre Shrimp Festival Queen. The resolution highlights her academic accomplishments, including maintaining a 3.5 GPA and membership in several honor societies, as well as her future plans to attend Louisiana State University to study psychology and become a child play therapist. As the festival queen, Bourque has demonstrated significant dedication by attending over 120 events and traveling more than 12,500 miles to promote the Delcambre Shrimp Festival, the town of Delcambre, and Louisiana's shrimping industry. She has also been actively engaged in supporting the seafood industry at state and federal levels, providing testimony to encourage proper seafood inspection and discourage imported seafood. The Louisiana House of Representatives formally recognizes Bourque's achievements and contributions, extending hopes for her continued success and happiness in her future endeavors.
