This resolution continues the Task Force on the Regulation of Community-Based Residential Settings, which was originally established in 2018 to study and make recommendations about regulations for community-based residential settings. The task force is authorized to continue its work, meeting as needed to fulfill its mission, and is required to submit a report with potential legislative proposals to the Senate and the David R. Poynter Legislative Research Library by March 1, 2026. The current task force members will continue serving, and the Louisiana Department of Health will provide staff support. The task force will operate with a majority quorum requirement, and members will serve without compensation except for potential per diem or expense reimbursements. The task force will maintain its original focus on preventing human degradation and exploitation of vulnerable individuals in community-based residential settings, and it is set to terminate on July 1, 2026. The resolution also mandates that copies of the resolution be transmitted to numerous state agencies, associations, and organizations involved in health, housing, advocacy, and related fields.
